Actor Katherine Heigl is opening her mind about being born into a "white bubble" and how the realization has affected how she parents her adopted multiracial children. She is the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress revealed in a recent interview she was told that when it came to the color of her skin, she didn't care the way she looked, but after she spoke about her sister's age, who was adoptive by South Korea, she realized how different society treated the two of them. "I I asked my sister Meg whether she'd been treated in one manner when she was going out with us parents, and another way when she went out on her own without anyone else. Meg replied "Oh Yes, all the time!" Heigl explained to Parents: "That was when I was aware of how foolish I had made me feel." She admitted to becoming frustrated, but decided use that anger to help her adopted daughters. Heigl has a four year old son who is married to her 13 year old spouse, Josh Kelley. Their daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is an Black 8-year-old girl who they adopted in 2012.
